Malawi Visit

imageWe’ve been deeply honoured to have John Kang’ombe from Malawi sharing with us over the last couple of weeks. John is a project manager with Aquaid Lifeline, the organisation with which we partner to further our commitment to Malawi’s poorest children. John has spoken in Church, has visited school and has been able to enjoy some of Scotland’s beautiful scenery. (more…)


Men’s Camping and Hiking

Glenesk walkAn 18-strong group of men, ranging in age from 21 to 70, enjoyed a fantastic overnight trip to Glenesk, 13-14th September. The weather was kind to us and we saw our country at its absolute best. The advance party headed off at 5.30pm on Friday and established the camp at Tarfside. Tents were up in no time and before much longer a roaring fire was built and alight thanks to the ‘Bear Grylls’ tactics of Michael! Dinner was served and a great evening was spent chatting and joking around the fire as the sun went down to leave a still, clear, star-lit sky. (more…)


Moderator visits Havilah

imageWe were delighted to welcome Lorna Hood, Moderator of the General Assembly of The Church of Scotland, who on 22nd Augsut came to visit our Havilah Project, which operates out of our Community Spirit building. Lorna’s visit was a great encouragement to staff and volunteers alike and she was able to meet and spend time with a number of the men and women who visit our project, many of them on a daily basis.
